Right after announcing Comet Compass, I started working on some new features. Now in the winter biome, ice will spawn above lakes. I also added new trees. Rather than spawning trees block by block, they're now more like the ones in Terraria, where they spawn a sprite in the back layer. Destroying one will give you 3 wood, and 2 saplings. When you destroy a slime enemy, you now also get an item called a "slime ball." Placing a slime ball over a sapling will cause it to instantly spawn a tree.
I also added a basic, temporary, lighting system. When the planet is first generated, the system creates a grid of black boxes. Then, every time the player places or breaks a block, it changes the on screen box's image_alphas depending on how many blocks are place above it (maxs at 3 above checks). It's only a super limited version right now, so it causes a bit of a dip in the FPS. For now, you can toggle the lighting just tapping the T key.
